Pouyan Torabi

Pouyan Torabi took ownership of DCP in late 2000, and developed the initial roadmap for creation of an online meeting place for the Persian community of DC Metro Area. Throughout the years, Pouyan has been actively involved
in several different Iranian Cultural Organizations including George Mason University's Persian Club, and University of Maryland's Iranian Students' Foundation. Pouyan's goal has been to create a strong Persian community online that can be
translated into a strong community offline. Pouyan oversees DCP's day to day activities along with CFO Amir Kazemi and CTO Hamed Hashemi.
Prior to DCP, Pouyan has been involved in the creation and operation of several different web sites and portals, including GMU Persian Club, ISF, and a music portal. Pouyan's growing interest in building and facilitating communities (online and offline) has been the key motivation for his involvement with DCP.
Pouyan is currently completing a degree in Information Technology at George Mason University, he is a Microsoft Certified System Engineer and Cisco Certified Network Associate. Pouyan has worked at The Washington Post
Newspaper as a Network Administrator for the past three years, and has now taken on a new position as a Senior System Admin at MHM-Services in McLean. |
Amir Kazemi

Amir Kazemi joined DCPersian.com in 2003 while working
full-time in New Haven, Connecticut. With his
experience in music and entertainment, Amir immediately
took over the popular entertainment section of
dcpersian.com. Along with Pouyan Torabi now the CEO
of DCPersian.com, as a team they were able to make
DCPersian.com the most popular site for persian event
advertisements in DC Metro area. Currently Amir is the
Chief Financial Officer, and he is consistantly
working on the business development side. Amir also
oversees all the budgets and cashflows for DCPersian Network.
Prior to DCPersian.com, Amir spent 5 years at
Genaissance Pharmaceuticals as a software engineer and
laboratory systems support engineer. Currently, Amir
works as a system analyst for a non-profit organization
in DC Metro area.
Amir holds a BS in Biological Science and Political
Science from University of Connecticut, with Masters
in Computer Science from University of New Haven |
Hamed Hashemi
Chief Technology Officer

Hamed Hashemi joined DCPersian.com in 2005 as the Chief Technology Officer from Atlanta, GA.
Sharing the same passion in the Persian community as the other members of DCPersian, Hamed
deals with the technical development of the backend system that keeps DCPersian online and
services members. He currently is working on adding new features to the website as well as
the day-to-day operations of DCPersian.
Prior to DCPersian, Hamed earned BS and Master's degrees in Computer Science from the Georgia
Institute of Technology. During his stay at Georgia Tech, he was involved in "The Iran Hours"
radio show, which was a weekly Persian music show broadcasted in FM radio to the Persian
community in Atlanta. After four successful years, Hamed led the efforts in starting "Radio Javan", a
joint project between Atlanta and Washington DC. Currently Hamed works at a startup software company
in midtown Atlanta. |
Aroosha Sarrafi

Aroosha Sarrafi joined DCPersian.com as an Art Director in 2005. Aroosha oversees all the design work related to DCPersian including our corporate identity, web site graphics, banners, flyers, and so on. Aroosha also manages DCP Design & Print Services which is a sub-division of DCPersian Network focusing on design and print services for the Persian
community of DC Metro Area including flyer design, logos, posters, brochures, and business cards.
Prior to DCPersian.com, Aroosha started working professionally in Tehran/Iran in 1992, while still a student at Azad University, gaining experience in advertising with a well known company, magazine publisher.
In 1996 Aroosha moved to Connecticut, USA and began working toward an MS degree in Fine Arts with a specialization in Graphic Design. Upon the completion of that degree, she moved to San Francisco to start her professional design career. she met with great success and was able to provide design solutions to several major corporations.
While that work was satisfying and financially lucrative, she felt that she wanted to contribute on a more personal and creative level. she has recently been lured back to Connecticut to take a full time position teaching Graphic and Information Design at Central Connecticut State University. It has been a total delight and a joyous experience for her to teach, "design" and help to produce great designers at the University level.
while she was teaching full time she started working on her MFA in Graphic Design at Boston University. she believes that was the appropriate step for my professional and personal development.
